The Billy Graham Center for Evangelism has partnered with Q Place — a local organization that works in churches to mobilize congregations in missions and evangelism — to release “ReKindle,” an online Evangelism Training Series. The YouTube channel, ReKindle, is the first of its kind for the Billy Graham Center. Laurie Nichols, director of communications and managing editor for the Billy Graham Center for Evangelism, says BGCE has been “trying to branch out into more online resources. In the past we’ve done lots of conferences or round tables to bring people together, or publications, but in the past three years we’ve been making more of an effort to use technology to reach more people.” The five-part launch series was released on Sept. 1, 2015 with videos by Ed Stetzer, Sam Kim, Skip Vaccarello, York Moore and Laurel Bunker. The speakers are Christian leaders from different sectors, including the market place, home life, community, sports ministry and social media. ReKindle has had over 950 views since its launch date. ReKindle’s sole purpose is “to equip and encourage Christian leaders and lay people alike in their gospel witness.” Focused toward Christians in leadership positions, ReKindle wants its viewers to “prioritize gospel witness and begin to integrate a lifestyle of evangelism into their leadership in a way that honors God and honors others.” Nichols said, “So far it’s been received really well.” The priority is “getting leaders who have some how incorporated a lifestyle of evangelism . . . not proclamation but a model of following Jesus and loving people and drawing them to him,” Nichols said when asked about what qualifies the speakers. She said the goal is “to make evangelism more a part of the ethos of who we are in leadership.”
The BGCE plans on releasing 6o more videos over the course of the next 16 months, running the series until Dec. 2016.
